TRAVELLING PUPPETS
Marketa & Marketa are both mums of pre-school and school aged children. We enjoy working with kids through drama and puppet theatre. We also love to make puppets of various kinds out of different materials, a skill which we are delighted to share with children and enthusiastic adults. We come from The Czech Republic – a place renowned for its distinctive puppetry. Marketa Pauzerova is also a painter and Marketa Steinerova teaches meditation and relaxation to pre-school children.

- FOR A BIRTHDAY PARTY: We will come to your house for your child's birthday party and provide a 30 min show and/or a 30 min workshop, all for a very reasonable price. Please, ring us or e-mail us on: travellingpuppets@gmail.com with your requirements. ENTERTAINMENT FOR YOUR NURSERY OR SCHOOL: Either as a one off special event, or as a regular treat for the kids, we will visit your nursery or school. Let us know if you think your child's nursery might be interested.
OUR HISTORY
M&M’s TRAVELLING PUPPETS is a puppet theatre for children. Its origins date back to the year 2000 when it was first established in Hanoi, Vietnam by Markéta Steinerová and her friend, Marie Barin, both pre-school teachers at an international kindergarten THE SYSTEMS’ LITTLE HOUSE. All the puppets were hand-made from recycled materials by Markéta and Marie as well as all the props. After a little break and a move from the Asian continent to Europe I started to play again, this time in Edinburgh, Scotland: Markéta Pauzerová joined Markéta Steinerová and the M&M’s TRAVELLING PUPPETS duo came to life in January 2008. We regularly play in THE MEADOWS NURSERY, Marchmont, at children birthday parties and in our TRAVELLING THEATRE in Marchmont. As in Vietnam, we use recycled materials to make our puppets and our shows are often accompanied by live music. Our repertoire includes folk tales from all over the world as well as modern ones. We use a wide variety of puppets from hand-puppets to marionettes made of either wood, cardboard, paper-machè or fabric.
